[Pinkfong TV App] is a subscription VOD streaming service for kids. This service provides over 12,000 episodes of Pinkfong original content and worldwide animations.
I developed the new UX/UI for this app and proceeded to Online-to-Offline marketing.

Problems

To figure out the reason for the continuous decline in the number of users since 2016, I conducted research such as ‘the conversion rate of paid subscriptions’, ‘the average number of users per month’, ‘user flow’… and so on. Based on traffic research, I found the primary traffic of Pinkfong TV comes from other Pinkfong apps and offline events. From the user flow data, I concluded that users only watched free videos after installing the app, but didn’t subscribe to it.

Visual Guide

As primary colors, blue and pink were used for the UI elements. The zigzag used in the background represents Pinkfong’s identity. I have developed visual guidelines, including the typeface, video thumbnails & song icons as well as banner layouts, for visual consistency.

In the main section, I arranged the recommended list and curated content by topic to help users find the best content to watch.

Before – Pink color was overused
– Effects on images were outdated
– Icon design was distracting

After – Pink was used as a point color
– Round buttons designed consistently
– Icon layout has been improved to make clear

To provide personalized recommendations, added login. A 'look around' button was placed at the top of the login page to prevent users from leaving. In addition, a timer and child safety lock have been added.

Marketing Materials

Pinkfong TV is mainly promoted through Pinkfong’s other apps and offline promotions, so I designed ads on the popular interactive apps, and I conducted offline promotions, such as posters, catalogs, and products.
